Aikifit

Want a GSP body without the cauliflower ears?

AikiFit is the answer

Aikifit is a new fitness program in Toronto that is a hybrid combination of martial arts and strength conditioning. It harmonizes the centred, balanced self mastery of traditional fighting arts (Karate, Kung Fu, Aikido, Tai Chi and more) with modern athletic conditioning methodology to provide you with a spirited, empowering total body conditioning experience.

Learn how to move with the grace and flexibility of a martial artist combined with the speed and agility of an Olympic athlete while projecting the relaxed confidence of a Shaolin monk.

The creators of Aikifit have traveled far and wide to exotic locations like Japan, Australia and North Bay Ontario, in order to bring together the best elements of traditional martial arts and the latest discoveries of modern sport science. They have put together a program that is challenging, progressive and most importantly, fun.

The key to aikifit is the Aiki Spiral Circuit. This circuit is based on the 5 element theory of ancient China. Each station focuses on one of these five elements: earth, metal, water, wood and fire; to ensure maximum results and maximum fun.

  • Earth movements develop the pillar (core and hip) muscles to develop a strong, stable foundation.
  • Metal movements develop lean strength from head to toe.
  • Water movements enervate the heart to get all of the body’s cardio flowing.
  • Wood movements utilize the wooden tools of aikido to promote fusion between  your breath, your body and you.
  • Fire movements represent the fire that drives the engine, turning that spark of inspiration into a roaring blaze.

Each of these elements is an important pillar upon which to build a strong foundation for health and wellness.
